QSC Mobile Detect Usage Guide

Follow these steps to launch the QSC Detect app, install it on your device, and keep it working offline.

Quick start

  1. Open qsc.earth/mobile-detect on your mobile device.
  2. Press start camera. Allow camera access.
  3. Point the camera at nearby objects and press capture.
  4. Press detect to see bounding boxes, labels, and confidence scores.

Install the app (recommended)

Installing the PWA keeps it on your home screen and makes it faster to launch.

  • iOS: Use Safari. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: Accept the install prompt or open the browser menu and choose Add to Home screen.

Offline use

  1. Open the app once while online so it can cache the model.
  2. After the first successful load, the app and model are stored locally.
  3. Launch the app anytime without a network connection to keep using it.

If you open the app offline before the model is cached, you will be prompted to reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera permission denied: Re-enable camera access for the site in your browser or OS settings.
  • No detections: Lower the confidence threshold in the app to show more results.
  • Blank screen: Close the app or refresh the page, then try again.
